Dr. Claudio Vázquez Colomo obtained his medical degree at the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU).
He did his internship and residency in Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Hospital Torrecárdenas in Almería.
He is currently a member of the Medical Services of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and is the doctor for the Spanish Under-19 men’s national football team.
He obtained the FIFA Certificate in Football Medicine in 2020 and is the only doctor who has won an award reserved for football players, the FIFA Fair Play award in Jesolo, Italy, in 2014.
He has studied a Master’s degree in Locomotor System Pathology at the University of Jaén and a Master’s degree in Sports Traumatology at the UCAM.
He became an expert in Sports Nutrition certified by the University of Rioja in 2015. In the 2018-2019 season he obtained the FC Barcelona Team Doctor Certificate.
He studied in the Doctorate Programme “Advances in Medicine and Surgery” at the University of Granada, academic years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. He also obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies “Percutaneous osteosynthesis in fractures of the proximal extremity of the humerus in two fragments”, presented on 27 September 2007 at the University of Granada with an outstanding qualification.
He collaborates with the NGO San Juan de Dios in Burkina Faso and Benin, helping and assisting the population in multiple surgeries.
He is the traumatologist in charge of the Knee, Shoulder and Hip Unit at Clínica Rusadir in Melilla and medical director of MedSport Clinic in the same city. He is also a doctor in the Melilla Football Federation.
In 2020 he joined the Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Unit of the Vithas Virgen del Mar Hospital in Almeria. Dr. Claudio Vázquez is a member of the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESKKA), the Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT), the Spanish Arthroscopy Association (AEA) and the Andalusian Society of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery (SATO).

He did his Internship and Residency in Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Complejo Orthopaedic Surgery at the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario Torrecárdenas de Almería.
He is currently a member of the Medical Services of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, being the doctor of the U19 Spanish National Men’s Football Team.
He has achieved the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine in 2020 and is the only doctor who has been awarded a prize reserved for soccer players, the FIFA Fair Play award in Jesolo, Italy in 2014.
He has a Master’s Degree in Locomotor System Pathology from the University of Jaén, and a Master’s Degree in Sports Traumatology from the UCAM.
He is an Expert in Sports Nutrition from the University of Rioja in 2015. In the 2018-2019 season he obtained the Certificate in Team Doctor of FC Barcelona.
